EMPORIUM — More educational programs are on tap this weekend at Sizerville State Park.
Monarch Mania is set for 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, starting at the Environmental Learning Center. Did you know that monarchs can travel as far as 2,500 miles during their migration route? Join the park educator to look for these milkweed butterflies throughout the park and learn about their great migration. Short talk on monarchs, followed by exploring the park and tagging any monarchs caught. Wear sturdy shoes and nets will be provided.
Did you know there are seven different species of woodpeckers found in Pennsylvania? Learn something unique about each species during Wild About Woodpeckers set 8 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the Campground Amphitheater. Short talk followed by a movie. Feel free to bring snacks and a blanket.
