Bradford Ecumenical Home Inc. is celebrating 35 years of service to the Bradford community.
Following a catastrophic fire at the former Dresser Memorial Presbyterian Home, the need for senior housing became an urgent issue. With the Hannum Memorial Rest Home’s structural decline, the Presbyterian and Baptist churches united. Construction commenced in June 1988 with a simple goal of reuniting displaced seniors and welcoming others to their new home. The 100-bed skilled nursing facility officially opened Aug. 5, 1989.
The executive board and community leaders had a vision of providing high-quality services to seniors in Bradford and its neighboring areas. Now, 35 years later, representatives said the mission has been upheld and the campus expanded significantly.
Bradford Ecumenical Home offers skilled nursing with round-the-clock comprehensive care, as well as short-term rehabilitation and respite. Our House, located within the skilled nursing facility, caters to individuals with Alzheimer’s or dementia-related diagnoses, by offering extensive restorative nursing and engaging activity programs. Chapel Ridge provides personal care services with stylish apartments, communal meals served in a restaurant-style dining area, and personalized service. Meanwhile, Creekside Suites allows for independent living with varying levels of staff support available on campus.
CEO Lisa Johnson said, “We are grateful to our residents, family members, employees, volunteers and community partners that have shared our commitment to deliver the highest standards of service and life-enhancing experience to seniors and their families. We consider it both an honor and a privilege to do what we do every day at Bradford Ecumenical Home Inc., and look forward to the years to come.”
