KANE — Two men “play wrestling” in a yard at a Lafayette Township residence Sunday ended with a third man going to jail for allegedly shooting at them with a bow-and-arrow.
Jacob G. Keefer, 28, of 1029 Beech St., Monaca, is charged with two count of aggravated assault — extreme indifference, first-degree felonies; three counts of aggravated assault — deadly weapon; four counts of simple assault, second-degree misdemeanors; and three counts of harassment and one of disorderly conduct, summary offenses.
According to the criminal complaint, at 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, state police were called to a residence on Vera Drive in Lafayette Township for a reported domestic. When police arrived, one man had a bite mark on his leg and another’s nose was swollen. The trooper was given a wooden bow and an arrow.
After speaking to the people involved, the trooper said two of the men were “play wrestling” in the side yard of the residence when Keefer came out of the woods yelling for them to stop. He was holding a bow with an arrow nocked, and threatened to shoot them if they didn’t stop. They told him they weren’t fighting, but Keefer fired an arrow in their direction. One man attempted to restrain Keefer, but was pushed out of the way. A second man attempted to restrain him, but was bitten on the leg for his efforts, according to the complaint.
Keefer walked away, then came back and started fighting with a third man, and elbowed him in the face, the complaint stated.
Keefer was arraigned before District Judge David Engman and jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail. He is scheduled for Central Court on Thursday.
