HARRISBURG (TNS) — The cartoons you loved as a child have found a home on a new channel.
Making things official with its huge launch on June 25, the brand-new TV network MeTV Toons is dedicated to providing viewers with the very best of classic animation, from Golden Age of Hollywood-era shorts to made-for-television favorites.
As previously reported, the new national network is a collaboration between Weigel Broadcasting Co. and Warner Bros. Discovery, which has licensed content featuring such beloved animated characters as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tom & Jerry, Johnny Quest, Fred Flintstone and more.
Now, fans far and wide will be able to enjoy their personal favorites, including “The Jetsons,” “Rocky and Bullwinkle,” “Scooby-Doo,” “Casper,” “Top Cat,” “Speed Racer,” and much more, according to the network’s website.
The lineup is so expansive that the network plans to feature over 60 different classic animated series each week.
“We are honored to work with the amazing team at Warner Bros. Discovery and others on this network and bring together a truly incredible collection of the world’s best-known and most-loved classic cartoons, creating a new destination for everyone to discover or rediscover the sheer joy of watching cartoons on TV,” said Neal Sabin, Vice-Chairman of Weigel Broadcasting Co.
“MeTV Toons will be dedicated 24/7 to showcasing the biggest names and most beloved classic cartoons and animated characters. Everyone has a favorite cartoon; it is a universally loved art form. We are thrilled to bring those smiles and memories back to TV with MeTV Toons.” Sabin added.
