Port Allegany Elementary School sent their students off for the summer with a last day of school assembly. During the program, there was a presentation of awards and some entertainment from the students. Then, students had a chance to meet with their teacher for the upcoming school year and visit their new classroom.

Two beloved PAES employees who were attending their last year end assembly were honored during a surprise farewell song. The Elementary Boosters were also on hand to present gifts to Guidance Counselor Beth Scanlon and Elementary Principal Tracy Kio.

Following that presentation, the entire student body performed a heart-felt rendition of “So Long, Farewell” from the Sound of Music. They were directed by Heather Nance, music teacher.

A slide show featuring pictures of Mr. Kio over his years at PAES led many of the students to come and give him a hug as they watched the pictures.

The program ended with a flash mob dance to the song “Time of My Life.”
