The summer season is almost officially upon us, and the folks at Chapel Ridge are aiming to start the season off right with a “Kickoff to Summer Celebration” beginning on Sunday and lasting through the week. This event also helps to mark Personal Care Home Week 2024.
The fun starts on Father’s Day at 8 a.m. during an Out to Breakfast Men’s Trip to the John Williams European Pastry Shop. This will be followed by a church service held at 2 p.m. and a Sunday show held at 6:30 p.m.
On Monday, things get fancy during 10 a.m. manicures. At 11 a.m. there will be shopping and banking, at 1 p.m. there will be a Skype Session. This will be followed by the 2 p.m. resident and staff T-ball game, with Watermelon Social to Follow. At 3:30 p.m. there will be an exercise group and 40’s Trivia Time.
On Tuesday, residents will be taken on a trip to Walmart at 10 a.m. There will be devotional reading held at 2 p.m. with an exercise group and 50’s Trivia Time to follow at 3:30 p.m. That night, residents will be taken to see the show Perry D’Andrea: Perry Sings Sinatra.
On Wednesday, there will be devotions with John Kearns held at 10 a.m. with a Happy Days Variety Show set for 2 p.m. Rounding out the day will be another 3:30 exercise group and 60’s Trivia Time.
On Thursday, the official first day of summer, residents will be treated to a screening of the movie “Grease” at 10 a.m. on the big screen. At 1:30 p.m. there will be a rosary gathering. At 1:30 there will be Pokeno and classic car facts. At 3:30 there will be an exercise group and 60’s Music Trivia Time. At 6:00 p.m. the 6th Annual Classic Car Show and hot dog roast will be held. Music will be provided by the RSVP Band.
On Friday, there will be manicures at 10 a.m. followed by 11 a.m. shopping and banking. Then at 2 p.m. the residents and staff will participate in 50’s themed games. There will also be an ice cream sundae bar available. The week will finish off with a 3:30 exercise group and 50’s Music Trivia Time.
