The Bradford Ecumenical Home, Inc. has awarded two area senior high school students with the Ann E. Lee Nursing Scholarship.
Emily Morgan of Bradford Area High School, and Ava Brinkley of Kane Area High School, were each recipients of the Ann E. Lee Nursing Scholarship for their acceptance into an accredited nursing program.
Morgan, the daughter of Stephen and Jennifer Morgan, will be attending the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. While in high school, Emily participated in Skills USA, Student Council, Volunteer Club, NTHS, Special Olympic Unified Bocce Team and the ELF Fund.
Brinkley, the daughter of Megan Connella and Parker Brinkley, will be attending the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing. While in high school, Ava participated in Student Council, Prom Committee, Students Against Drunk Driving, Kare for Kane, soccer and track.
This is the fourteenth annual nursing scholarship presented by the Bradford Ecumenical Home, Inc. The scholarship was named to honor the memory of long-time community Nurse Practitioner and Bradford Ecumenical Home, Inc. Board Member, Ann E. Lee. Scholarship applications were accepted from Bradford, Kane, Smethport, Port Allegany, and Otto-Eldred.
“Our nation and local community has a growing need for nurses. It was terrific that we received a number of exceptional applications. We are proud to present these awards to these students,” said Johnson.
