ERIE — The Most Rev. Lawrence T. Persico, bishop of Erie, announced changes to the appointments of clergy in the diocese.
The Rev. James G. Gutting, pastor of St. Bernard Church in Bradford, is retiring, effective July 8, the bishop announced.
Bradford native, the Rev. Stephen J. Schreiber, was appointed pastor of St. Joseph Parish and the Bread of Life Community, Erie, and Sacred Heart Parish, Erie, with its secondary mission church of St. Paul, Erie, effective July 9, and continuing until July 31, 2030.
A second list of assignments, including the assignment for the Rev. Luke Daghir who was ordained May 24, will be shared at parishes the weekend of June 1 and 2.
