A full slate of events is scheduled at Crook Farm this year.
A barn and yard sale will be held today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as part of the townwide garage sales. There is plenty of parking, and refreshments will be available for purchase.
A heritage garden workshop series begins Sunday and will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., as will the second and third workshops, set for June 29 and Aug. 3.
Master gardeners of McKean County, partnered with Crook Farm, will present a three-part Heritage Gardening Worksop series. The workshops will focus on topics essential to the beginner or casual gardener who is interested in creating and managing their own garden using traditional skills and methods.
The first workshop will be on planning and planting — ground preparation, starting seeds, transplanting, direct sowing and companion planting. Everything you need to begin your own heritage garden.
The second workshop will be on pest prevention. It will be held June 29. Participants will learn how to manage common pests such as weeds, insects, and animals, using organic methods.
The third workshop, picking and preserving, will be held Aug. 3. Learn how to harvest your garden and preserve its bounty. From drying, to pickling and canning, participants will see traditional methods of preservation and how to do it at home with modern conveniences and appliances.
Registration fees are $10 per workshop or $25 for the three part series. Fees due at workshop check-in.

A Museum and Market Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 15. Crook Farm is open for the public to explore a piece of the past. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover lost skills demonstrated by historic interpreters, try their hand at old-time crafts, and shop the Market Square, showcasing local vendors and their goods. Many who remember the Crook Farm Fair will enjoy this event, with over 30 artisan vendors, hands on demonstrations, children’s games, and food.
