Stacy Shotts Williams is the recipient of AAUW – Bradford Branch’s Gateway to Equity Award. This award honors an individual, group or organization that has shown by action and philosophy the promotion of the AAUW mission to advance gender equity for women and girls through research, education and advocacy.
Williams is executive director of the Bradford Hospital Foundation and director of Volunteer Services and Community Outreach at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
She began her career at BRMC in 1991 when she was hired as a medical assistant for the Healthy Beginning Plus. She also worked at the McKean County Visiting Nurse Association before being named BRMC’s director of volunteer services and community outreach.
As chair of the Bradford Hospital Foundation, she oversees fundraising campaigns and the memorial and named funds.
Throughout her career, Williams has worked to improve life chances and the health and well-being of all members of the community — women, men, girls and boys.
When the local Meals on Wheels was in need of a partner so it could continue its services, Williams was instrumental in securing the funding and a home for the program at BRMC.
She has been an active member of the McKean County Collaborative Board. In 2021, the Bradford United Way Board named Wililams as the recipient of the Red Feather award to honor her exemplary service as a volunteer. She has also served on the Leadership McKean Board and the Department of Human Services Advisory Board, participated in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and is an active member of the Church of the Ascension.
As part of her personal and professional mission, Williams seeks to create a sense of community through her efforts at work and in the Bradford community.
She lives in Bradford with her spouse, Dennis. They have three children, Jill, Jack and Jesse (Aubrey) and a granddaughter, Reagan. She is the daughter of Joyce and the late Jack Shotts and stepdaughter of Bob Keesler.
