HARRISBURG (TNS) — Combined total revenue from state gaming, including fantasy contests, recently set an all-time monthly high, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
In its most recent report, the board said revenue in March was about $554.6 million, eclipsing the previous monthly high of $534.2 million set in December 2023.
The total revenue for internet gaming was $191 million, a new monthly record and a nearly 29% increase over the $148.2 million in revenue from March 2023.
March’s total revenue was a 7.64% increase over the $515.27 million figure from the same period in 2023, said the board. Total tax revenue generated from all forms of gaming totaled $229.56 million.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantville had revenue of $88.17 million in March, the highest among Pennsylvania casinos and an almost 9% increase over its revenue of $80.9 million in March 2023.
Close behind Hollywood was Valley Forge Casino Resort, which had revenue of $80 million in March, a nearly 28.5% increase over March 2023.
Two other casinos in the region saw significant revenue increases year over year, too.
Hollywood Casino York had revenue totaling $10.24 million, a 13% increase from March 2023, while Parx Casino in Shippensburg had revenue of $3.95 million, a nearly 29% increase the prior year period.
