WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – The board of directors of the National Fuel Gas Co. Foundation, the charitable giving arm of National Fuel, recently approved foundation grants totaling $207,000.
David P. Bauer, foundation president and president and CEO of National Fuel, said National Fuel is awarding grants to 35 nonprofits, including four community grant recipients, nonprofits nominated by employee resource groups (ERGs) and Days of Doing partners.
“We are pleased to provide grants to numerous nonprofits from across our service territory,” Bauer said. “Although the missions of these organizations vary, each is providing critical work and helping to make our communities safer, healthier and more prosperous.”
Several local organizations were among the grant recipients.
In New York, Alfred State College’s Heavy Equipment Operations Program received a grant to purchase a mini excavator as well as to provide 25 students with scholarships to buy required tools.
National Fuel’s ERGs EDGE Fuel, FEMALE Fuel, PRIDE Fuel and Allies and VET Fuel annually nominate nonprofits whose missions and community work align with each ERG’s values. Local recipients include LEEK Hunting & Mountain Preserve and Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors Inc.
Last month, hundreds of National Fuel employees volunteered across the company’s service territory during Days of Doing (DOD), an annual three-day companywide event. Partner organizations worked with National Fuel to make the event a success and each has been awarded a charitable gift. Local recipients include Friends of Twins Lake/Allegheny National Forest, Ludlow Community Association/Wildcat Park and Pennsylvania Parks & Forest Foundation.
