CLEARFIELD — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced its schedule of maintenance activities in McKean and Elk counties this week.
Bridge maintenance and cleaning are slated throughout McKean County through Friday. This work takes place off the roadway and has minimal, if any, traffic impact.
Patching will take place in Lafayette and Keating townships on Route 59 near Bradford Regional Airport as well as on Bingham Road (Route 4003) through Friday. Flaggers will control traffic.
Pipe replacing and cleaning will occur on Route 46 between Smethport and Bradford in Keating, Otto and Foster townships, as well as on Bell Run Road (Route 1009) from the intersection of Route 44 to Shay Town Road in Cress Township. Flaggers in the roadway will control traffic for both projects through Friday.
In Elk County, flaggers will control traffic on Route 255 between St. Marys and Johnsonburg as crews conduct hot pour mastic and crack sealing operations.
Pipe cleaning and replacement is slated on Tambine Road (Route 4003) between the intersection of Route 948 toward Water Street Extension in Ridgway Township. Flaggers will control traffic through Friday.
PennDOT urges motorists to exercise caution in these and all work zones to ensure their safety and the safety of county maintenance staff. The schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, emergencies or other unforeseen interruptions.
