The Allegheny Hardwood Utilization Group (AHUG) will hold its annual dinner May 15 at the Red Fern in Kersey,
Social hour begins at 5 p.m., with dinner and the program to follow at 6 o’clock.
Seth Cassell, Pennsylvania state forester, will be the featured speaker. Cassell has nearly 25 years of experience in the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Bureau of Forestry.
Cassell is the 17th person to hold the position of state forester and bureau director since its creation. As part of his service to the commonwealth and the country, Cassell also serves in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. He is currently a lieutenant colonel and commands the 193rd Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron.
Cassell will offer comments on future plans and priorities for the DCNR Bureau of Forestry under his leadership and that of the Shapiro Administration and DCNR Secretary Dunn.
