Have you ever wanted to offer well wishes or personal words of encouragement to graduating seniors, but weren’t sure how?
The new Red Envelope program through the Bradford Area Education Association is offering that chance to the Bradford community.
Ashlee Colwell from BAEA explained, “Essentially the program is for families, community members, faculty, staff, etc., to send letters/cards of congratulations to this year’s seniors. BAEA will collect the mailings and then put them into a red envelope and give them to the kids during their graduation practice.”
All graduates will be included.
“Every student will receive a large Red Envelope containing these messages of well-wishes,” Colwell said. “Graduation is a big moment for the seniors and their families, so we would like to give you the opportunity to share in this happy time of their lives. What a wonderful way to express your warm thoughts to individual members of the 2024 Senior Class!”
If you have a specific graduate in mind, make sure the student’s full name is on the letter or card. The BAEA is also collecting cards with general well wishes from the community. If sending a card for any graduate, address the card or letter “To a Graduating Senior.”
All letters must arrive at Floyd C. Fretz Middle School by May 24; send them as early as possible.
Instructions are as follows: Letters and cards can be no larger than 8X10 and cannot include packages, gifts or money. Keep cards and letters flat. Make sure the student’s full name is on all envelopes if including several inside a larger envelope.
The address to send cards and letters is to the student’s full name, Floyd C. Fretz Middle School — Red Envelope Program, 140 Lorana Ave., Bradford, PA 16701.
“We also have the residents of Chapel Ridge and the Ecumenical Home participating in something we’re calling ‘Seniors to Seniors,’” Colwell said. “Becky Greenburg is having her residents send well wishes and advice to our graduates.”
