The Big 30 announced its latest player additions for the 2024 game.
Included are five players each from Pennsylvania and New York, including two each from Bradford and Salamanca.
Lucas BauerSt. Mary’s
Area School District
Height: 5’8”-

Lucas will be continuing his baseball and academic career at Allegheny University. He will be majoring in Business Management and minoring in Psychology. He was named his teams MVP in baseball and was named to the Northern Allegheny Large school all-star team, which earned a district championship. He was named an Elk County Tournament All-Star in football and was his teams Rookie of the Year in basketball. He also received his Coaches’ Player of the Year Award. He wants to play in the Big 30 game because he wants to keep playing football. His favorite football memory was senior night. His hobbies include lifting, training (baseball), watching movies, and hanging out with friends. His favorite NFL team is the Pittsburgh Steelers and favorite player is George Pickins.
Abram AustinOtto-Eldred High School

Abram plans to pursue a career as an electrician at a trade school. He is a Member of the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society. He is an Eagle Scout and was his team’s homecoming MVP on defense. In addition, he earned his degree in FFA. He has always wanted to play in the Big 30 game, and it gives him one more chance to play football with some of his friends. His favorite times playing football were practice and having fun with his teammates. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and being in the outdoors. His favorite NFL team is the Buffalo Bills.
Jake FranzBradford Area High School

Jake will attend Slippery Rock University and major in Sports Management and Marketing. He has been an honor roll student from 7th grade through 12th grade and is a member of the National Honor Society in the field of Business. He was named to the District 9 All-Star Team, the Big 30 All-Star team, Max Preps Pennsylvania Athlete of the week finalist, Model T Big Man of the Year Award. In golf, Jake was on the Pennsylvania District 9 Runner-up team in 2020. He was the 2021 Pennsylvania District 9 individual runner-up/state qualifier, 2022 Pennsylvania District 9 Individual Champion/state qualifier and 2023 Pennsylvania District 9 individual Champion/ state qualifier. In soccer, Jake was the Pennsylvania District 9 runner-up in 2020 and the 2021 District 9 Champions. In 2022, he was on the District 9 Championship team, which advanced to state playoffs. In basketball, Jake was a 4-year letterman and offensive Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player Award winner. He is proud to represent himself, his family, and his town in the Big 30 Game. He is also excited to have one more chance to play under the lights at Parkway field. His favorite memory was homecoming game against Moniteau. His hobbies include skiing, golfing, and volunteering as a sports referee. His favorite NFL team is the Dallas Cowboys and his favorite player is Ezekiel Elliott.

He was the recipient of the Dorothy Frontino Character Award at Bradford High School. He was the National Technical Honor Society president and the senior class treasurer. He is excited to play in the Big 30 Game and just to have the chance to play another game. His father also played in the game, so it gave his something to aspire to. His favorite memory was a homecoming win. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and hanging out with friends. His favorite NFL team is the Denver Broncos, and his favorite player is Ja’marr Chase.
Cole SzubaSmethport

Cole plans to enter into a Heavy Equipment apprenticeship program. He was the recipient of the Dave Magee Lineman Award at Smethport High School. He was the 2023 football team co-captain and was selected to play in both the Big 30 Charities Classic and the Frank Varischetti All-Star football games. He is a Member of the National Technical Honor Society, and he is a scholar athlete. He has seen his older friends and teammates play in the game and it’s something he has wanted to be a part of. It’s an honor to play with and against some of the best football players in our area and support such an amazing charity. His favorite moment playing football was winning the Small School North title in 2021. His hobbies include hunting and fishing. His favorite NFL team is the Pittsburgh Steelers, and his favorite player is Trent Williams.
Arlen NewarkSalamanca High School

Arlen plans to attend college and major in Criminal Justice. He was selected to the Big 30 Scholarship Fund offensive unit. He wants to play in the Big 30 Game because he feels like it’s a great honor and it will be a lot of fun. His best moments in football were winning the sectional title his senior year after his school not winning it for 22 years. His hobbies include playing lacrosse, running, playing flag football, and volunteering with the little league football team. His favorite NFL team is the Buffalo Bills, and his favorite player is Adam Thielen.
J.T. AumanSalamanca High School

J.T. will be attending college and majoring in Business. He plans to play football for his college. He is both a Scholar Athlete and a Character Athlete. He wants to play in the Big 30 Game because he believes it will be a great memory and it’s a one-time opportunity that not everyone gets. His favorite football memory was scoring two touchdowns against Allegany in his senior year. His hobbies include lifting, eating, gaming, golfing, and fishing. His favorite NFL team is the Green Bay Packers, and his favorite player is Eddie Lacy.

Beau plans to attend Jamestown Community College and play baseball, while majoring in Sports Management. He was named MVP in football, including MVP for special teams, Defensive player of the year in basketball, and MVP in baseball. He also received a Golden Glove Award at Franklinville Central School. He says he is honored to play in the Big 30 game because it gives him the opportunity to play alongside some of the best players in one last clash. His favorite memory playing football was winning the 2019 midget football league championship coached by coach Justin Tatlow and Matt Spitler where they went undefeated to win the Superbowl. He likes to hang out with his friends, playing sports, in his spare time. His favorite NFL team is the Seattle Seahawks, and his favorite player is Saquon Barkley.

Lucious plans to enter a N.Y. state trooper academy after graduation. He is a High Honor Roll/Honor Roll Student. In his opinion, the Big 30 Game is a privilege and an honor. He would love to play alongside the best of New York and Pennsylvania. It’s a bonus to play in one more game. It will complete his senior year in the sport he loves, with the people I’ve played with and against my whole life. His favorite moment playing football was at a practice, when the offensive line was making false calls to fool the blitzing backer, and the team’s center, Hayden Emley, yelled “Oak Tree”. That call definitely caught them all off guard. His hobbies include working on his car and playing basketball and golf with his friends. His favorite NFL team is the Buffalo Bills, and his favorite player is Matt Milano.
Gabe KempfPioneer

Gabe plans to enter Erie Community College for two years, play football, and major in General Studies. He was named to the first team Erie County Interscholastic Conference (ECIC) All Western New York football, ECIC Team II soccer and MVP in soccer. He was also named team MVP in indoor/outdoor track. He says that being named to the Big 30 team is an accomplishment and a big milestone in his football career. His favorite memory was kicking for his team in Highmark Stadium. His hobbies include sports, hunting, and fishing. His favorite NFL team is the Buffalo Bills, and his favorite player is Josh Allen.
