MOUNT JEWETT TO KINZUA BRIDGE (MJ2KB) TRAIL CLUB will meet at 7 p.m. today at the Jackson Building, 48 W. Main St. There is parking along Main Street.
Anyone with ideas, questions or concerns is invited to attend. As a reminder we have 2023 “Trail of the Year” T-shirts for sale (on display at the meeting).
Saturday is Celebrate Trails Day. If weather allows, a short, light work morning will be held at the pavilion on Hacker Street with some weeding and cleaning up, perhaps planing some seeds or plants. Bring your bike or wear a good pair of walking shoes. We’ll have the club’s work cart available to check out the rail trail for those who cannot walk or ride a bike. Check our FB page to see if we will meet.
So far, we don’t know how the closing of the Kinzua Bridge State Park Skywalk later this year will affect the trail on the end closest to the park. As far as we know, there won’t be any “work” traffic on the trail up until November, or maybe none at all, we just don’t know.
For membership forms or to make a donation, visit mj2kbtrail.club. All money received goes to maintain the club’s 8 miles of the Knox & Kane Rail Trail (gas, equipment maintenance, repairs, improvements) and general up-keep of the trail.
The large pavilion near the KBSP Skywalk is reserved for May 10.
