It was another banner season for the Otto-Eldred boys basketball team, and that was reflected in the Big 30 basketball all-star teams.
Juniors Landon Francis and Manning Splain were named first team Big 30 all-stars, while Brax Caldwell was a second-team selection.
They were joined by second-team selections Josh Smith of Cameron County and Reilly Streich of Coudersport, as well as Cameron County’s Ryan Shaffer, a third-team selection.
On the girls’ side, Port Allegany’s Ella Moses was a first-team selection and teammate Kayleigha Dowell second team.
Also garnering second-team honors was Coudersport’s Sierra Myers, while Smethport’s Elizabeth Hungiville was a third-team selection.
Francis, Splain and Caldwell anchored an Otto-Eldred team that rolled to another North Tier League championship and a berth in the PIAA playoffs.
Francis averaged 15.6 points, 6.3 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.1 steals per game while shooting 45.3% from the floor, while Splain averaged 16.6 ppg, 4.3 rpg. 3.1 apg, 2.3 spg, shot 47.4% from the field and tit 68 3-pointers.
Caldwell, a senior who will play next season at Pitt-Bradford, averaged over 11 ppg.
Smith helped lead Cameron County to a 20-plus win season and a win in the PIAA state tournament, averaging 17.5 ppg, 8.0 rpg while scoring 20 or more points 11 times with a high of 34.
His teammate, Shaffer, averaged 14.7 ppg. Streich, meanwhile, returned from an injury that cost him the early part of the season to average 19.5 ppg.
For the girls, Moses filled the stat sheet for Port Allegany this season, averaging 13.1 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 3.3 spg, 2.7 apg and 1.1 bpg.
Her teammate, Dowell, averaged 11.3 ppg.
Myers, meanwhile, averaged nine ppg., while Hungiville, who surpassed 1,000 career points and will continue her athletic career at Penn State DuBois, averaged 13.0 ppg, 13.9 rpg, 2.2 spg, 1.9 bpg, 1.8 apg.
