Bradford Township Volunteer Fire Department and Bradford City ambulance were dispatched to a one-vehicle accident on Interstate Parkway in Foster Township near the New York state line at 7:48 p.m. Friday. Emergency personnel found the heavily damaged vehicle on its side, over an embankment. Extrication of the victim took 30 minutes. Firefighters used hydraulic and electric-powered rescue tools to remove the driver, who was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Firefighters left the scene at 10:40 p.m. after assisting with the difficult vehicle removal. Foster Township Police investigated and were assisted at the scene by Bradford Township Police, Pennsylvania State Police and University of Pittsburgh Police.
