The Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce is trying something new this year, a Girls’ Day Out to — hopefully, chamber officials said — usher in a new era of women’s health and wellness.
The event will provide important health and wellness information in a relaxing atmosphere, beginning at 9 a.m. April 13 at St. Bernard Auditorium.
Cocktails and mocktails will be available, as well as food for sale. Toes will be kept tapping as music is provided by DJ Benzo. The T-Shirt Sisters will attend to promote a fun atmosphere.
“We wanted people to have fun, maybe people will grab a girlfriend and head out for a nice afternoon,” said Heidi Scrivo, Chamber of Commerce president. “We are also going to have a trivia game, oxygen bar, make your own salt scrub, and more.”
The event will feature both health and wellness providers.
“With this event, we thought this would be a great opportunity to make people aware of the health and wellness resources that are available in the Bradford area,” Scrivo said. “There have been so many changes over the last few years that we wanted to make people aware of the landscape. “We were sure we had a good mix of both, to appeal to as many people as possible.”
The health providers featured will include Universal Primary Care, Bradford Regional Medical Center, Olean General Hospital and Evergreen Elm, among others. Wellness providers will include the Levitate Float Spa, Magickal Crystal Store, Seeds & Stems, Athena Nutrition, RISE PT & Wellness, and others.
“If there is a specific medical issue you have been dealing with or a certain doctor you are looking for, we hope to be able to help answer some of those questions,” Scrivo added.
Different speakers will share at half-hour intervals throughout the day in the cafeteria.
If the event goes as well as planned, it may become a staple on the local social calendar.
“This is our first one but it is hopefully going to become an annual event where we can entice more people each year,” Scrivo said.
