CLEARFIELD — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced a bridge replacement project is underway on Looker Mountain Trail (Route 246) in Otto Township, McKean County.
This will improve safety and ride quality for motorists by replacing the bridge spanning Baker Run, improving the overall condition rating from poor to good.
The bridge was reduced to one lane during daylight hours as of Monday. Flaggers will provide traffic control until April 16, when temporary traffic signals will provide traffic control for the duration of the project. Work is estimated to be completed in November. All work and scheduling is weather dependent.
Additional work to the bridge deck and the approach will include paving, guide rail installation, application of pavement markings and miscellaneous construction.
Francis J. Palo Inc. of Clarion is the contractor on this $1.9 million project.
Motorists are advised to be alert for sudden stops and traffic delays, and asked to use caution in the area.
