SMETHPORT — Two Buffalo men were sentenced Thursday in McKean County Court to serve time in state prison for dealing drugs in the Bradford area.
Clyde Hoskins, 31, of Genesee Street, was sentenced to 30 to 60 months on charges of burglary, theft, tampering with evidence and other offenses.
According to District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer, “Hoskins was initially charged by Foster Township Police and, as a result of the arrest, the vehicle he was driving was impounded and taken to a building owned by Tuna Valley Towing. Following investigation, Hoskins was identified and charged by City of Bradford Police with breaking into the building, retrieving evidence out of the vehicle, and stealing a surveillance camera owned by the company.”
In a separate case, Hoskins was charged with delivering methamphetamine while under surveillance by the McKean County Drug Task Force.
In a separate case, he was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at a traffic stop in Kane. He was sentenced to 30 to 60 months imprisonment, one year of consecutive probation and other terms.
The passenger in his car, Jalen Posey, 32, of Hewitt Avenue, was sentenced to 30 to 60 months incarceration and one year consecutive probation.
Shaffer said, “Posey had pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance in Kane Borough. After he was arraigned, Kane Borough officers transported him to the McKean County Jail. Following investigation by McKean County Detective Linda Close, Posey was charged with bringing controlled substances into the jail and providing them to other inmates who began testing positive for drugs.”
Posey had pleaded guilty to contraband to confined persons (fentanyl, xylazine, cocaine and etonitazene) (felony), delivery of a controlled substance (felony) and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana and cocaine) (misdemeanor).
Also on Thursday, Michael Stuller, 38, of 1413 Daisy St., Clearfield, was sentenced to 54 months to 108 months in state prison plus one year of consecutive supervision for possessing a firearm by a felon. According to the criminal complaint, a pistol was on the driver’s seat of Stuller’s car when he was stopped by police in Bradford Township.
Andrew Baker, 32, of 179 Main St., Eldred, was sentenced to one to two years in state prison, plus one year of consecutive supervision. According to the criminal complaint, Baker assaulted a man and a woman at an Eldred residence, and had “stabbed and sliced” the man in the back.
Justin Simmer, 43, of Mount Jewett, was sentenced to 18 to 36 months incarceration in state prison on charges of terroristic threats, resisting arrest and three counts of simple assault.
He was charged in two different criminal complaints with crimes that occurred in Mount Jewett.
