Third place has continued to be the charm for the two local women competing in the cover contest for Inked magazine.
Both Daniella Langianese of Lewis Run and Michelle Toothman were number three in their respective groups Friday — which means they have made it to the group finals, where the next cut takes it down to just one woman in each group. So far, about 95,000 women have been cut from the contest through public voting.
Voting for this round ends March 14.
One preliminary winner in each group will advance to the quarterfinals. There will be a wildcard round, from March 15 to 17, where the woman who came in second place in each group will compete for a chance to advance.
Langianese and Toothman have both done well in the contest, remaining toward the top of their respective groups.
Both are in the running with thousands of women to be featured on the cover of Inked, win $25,000, experience the first-ever Inked@Sea cruise, and receive an exclusive tattoo session with Ryan Ashley.
There are about 1,700 groups, each of which started with 61 women, with public voting narrowing down the number of contestants.
