CLEARFIELD — A Clearfield woman has been charged with possessing weapons of mass destruction after her backpack was found containing explosive devices among other materials inside.
According to the police report, at 3:36 p.m. Feb. 26, police were dispatched to the 600 block of Williams Street for the report of a found backpack. Police retrieved the backpack and found it was owned by Brandi L.K. Boris, 46.
When the backpack was searched, police located a large amount of drug paraphernalia, four improvised explosive devices, as well as materials used to manufacture the devices. Centre County EOD team was requested, and officials took possession of, evaluated and disposed of the devices.
Police obtained a search warrant for Boris’ residence on 19th Street in Lawrence Township. A search of Boris’ residence yielded multiple items that were used to manufacture the explosive devices.
Boris was arraigned in front of District Judge David Meholick on March 2 and charged with four counts of weapons of mass destruction, felonies of the second degree; four counts of make/repairs/sells offense weapon, misdemeanors of the first degree; and 10 counts of use/possession of drug paraphernalia, ungraded misdemeanors.
Boris is incarcerated in Clearfield County Jail, unable to post $1 million monetary bail.
