The second group of players has been announced for the 2024 Big 30 Charities Classic, and it includes a pair of Port Allegany Gators.
Austin Freer and Miska Young are the Gators who have accepted invitations to play, as have Otto-Eldred’s Tyler McElhattan, Smethport’s Logan Hurlburt, Cameron County’s Lathan Reed and Pioneer’s Nate Butts.

Austin FreerPort Allegany High School
Height: 5’10”- Weight: 285 Lbs.
Offense: N/A — Defense: Tackle
Austin plans to enter the Air Force to serve his country. He is looking forward to playing in the Big 30 game and have one more chance to play and work with the players from all over the Big 30 area. His favorite time playing football was his freshman year. “The seniors were great that year, taught us a lot, and made it fun.” His hobbies are welding and weightlifting. His favorite NFL team is the San Francisco 49’ers and his favorite player is Nick Bosa.
Miska YoungPort Allegany High School
Height: 6’2” — Weight: 230 Lbs.
Offense: RG — Defense: DE
Miska would like to obtain a degree in exercise science and attend chiropractic school. He was added to the 1st Team All-State roster at Defensive End and was the Big 30 Lineman of the Year. He is excited to play in the Big 30 Game to get a chance to play with his teammates one more time. His favorite memory playing football was winning the D-9 Championship. His hobbies include lifting, spending time with friends & family, watching football, wrestling, and golfing. His favorite football team is Penn State and his favorite player is Aaron Donald.
Tyler McElhattanOtto-Eldred Jr. Sr. High School
Height: 5’10” — Weight: 240 Lbs.

Tyler plans to attend Triangle Tech in Dubois and major in welding. He wants to play in the Big 30 Game because he has played football since he was 8 years old. It became a goal after watching many Big 30 games with his family. His favorite football memories were just the times spent with his team. His hobbies include fishing, hunting and making maple syrup.
Logan HurlburtSmethport Jr. Sr. High School
Height: 5’9” — Weight: 190 Lbs.
Offense: LG — Defense: DT
Logan plans to attend Southeast Lineman Training School. He was also named the Dave Magee Down Lineman Award winner at SAHS. He is excited to play in the Big 30 Charities Classic because it’s one of the biggest games of the year. It’s one more opportunity to put on the pads and compete in his favorite sport. His favorite moment playing football was going to the D-9 Championship his freshman year. His hobbies are hunting and fishing. His favorite NFL team is the Dallas Cowboys and his favorite player is Micah parsons.
Lathan ReedCameron County High School
Height: 5’4” — Weight: 185 Lbs.
Offense: FB — Defense: LB
Lathan plans to enter the Navy to serve his country after graduation. He said his Grandpa played in the Big 30 Game in 1978 and he has worked very hard to play in a game like this. His favorite memory while playing was beating Union in the first game of his senior year. His hobbies include hunting, lifting, playing baseball, and hanging out with his friends. His favorite NFL team is the Pittsburgh Steelers and his favorite player is Troy Polamalu.
Nate ButtsPioneer High School
Height: 5’11” — Weight: 235 Lbs.
Offense: G — Defense: T
Nate plans to attend Alfred State College after graduation. He was the Shenk Award winner and his team MVP on the offensive line. He was also a trench Trophy nominee and named to the 2nd team all-league roster. He is looking forward to playing one last game of football in the Big 30 Charities Classic. The highlight of his high school football career was playing in Highmark Stadium. His favorite NFL team is the Pittsburgh Steelers and his favorite player is T.J. Watt.
