(TNS) — A story from a woman who claims she married and divorced a pathological liar has swept over TikTok.
Reesa Teesa broke it all down for viewers in a 50-part video series posted to the social media platform about a year-long marriage spun from what she said was nothing but lies and deceit.
Collectively, the multiple TikTok videos are nearly 8 hours long.
For those who aren’t aware of the content creator, she would normally post about her everyday life and already had a solid following. But when she launched her “Who TF Did I Marry” series on Valentine’s Day, the account skyrocketed.
In the 50-part saga, Teesa delves into her whirlwind relationship with “Legion,” stamping him as a pathological liar and describing a relationship peppered with red flags, noting, “You would have thought I was colorblind because I ignored all of that.”
“If just one woman watches these videos and she’s like, ‘You know what? Something don’t sit right with me. Let me look into this,’ then it was worth it,” she said in one video.
Teesa recounts the story of her meeting Legion in March 2020. When she first spoke to him over the phone, he claimed he was a former football player and divorced regional manager who moved to Georgia recently from California. While on their first date, he had aspirations of wanting to get married, own a house and start a family, which were Teesa’s goals as well.
Some months later, Legion moved into the townhouse Teesa was renting so they could weather the COVID-19 lockdown together. It wasn’t long after that she became pregnant.
She said they viewed several homes but never closed after Legion refused to provide proof that he had the money to support his $700,000, all-cash offers.
Teesa even remembered when Legion said he was transferring money from his offshore account to purchase her an Audi Q8 and told her the SUV would be delivered to their house, but there was one huge issue.
It never came.
As Teesa told the eye-popping tale, she acknowledged her mistakes of staying with him despite his constant lies. She also explained that the pandemic progressed their relationship even further and made Legion’s lies seem much more convincing.
“I’m not a dumb person,” she said in one video. “But it just never dawned on me the things that you have to now investigate.”
The couple tied the knot in January 2021, but Legion was still lying, Tessa said.
She eventually miscarried the pregnancy. Turns out, no house was ever purchased, and she ended up buying her own car, a Nissan Altima.
When the two split and she filed for divorce, she learned the ugly truth about Legion – he never lived in California, and was married twice before.
Digging through government records and conducting her own conversations with his family, she further found out Legion even pretended to have siblings who didn’t exist and said family members died from COVID, but actually had passed away years before the virus’ outbreak.
He also lied about his job, which was as a temp forklift operator, not a regional manager or vice president, and he would pretend to be on the phone with family for long periods.
The fact that TikTok fans have latched on to this story proves that short attention spans on the platform don’t apply to something like this.
