At a brief meeting Tuesday evening, Bradford City Council gave final approval to land development for the ATA Bradford Multimodal Facility.
The Area Transportation Authority is planning a transit center in the city’s downtown, located on East Corydon Street. The sites have been cleared, but no construction has begun.
In other business, council approved sidewalk easement agreements for the North Bennett Street/Campus Drive streetscape improvement project. The city has applied for the federal Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program funding for the project, and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation requires formal sidewalk easements for privately owned parts of the sidewalk.
Also at the meeting, council members approved utility bill collections agreements with the Bradford Sanitary Authority and Bradford Water Authority. Both are three-year agreements.
Demolition of two blighted buildings was approved. TV Service was awarded the demolition of 64 South Ave. for $4,854.54, while 6V will demolish 124 ½ W. Washington St. for $8,582.
Council approved a certificate of appropriateness to Zong Dai, owner of Lofty Apricot Corp., at 21 Main St., to install siding material on the Pine Street side of the building to protect the brick and foundation stone from weather deterioration.
The council members voted against the sale of eight parcels of land from the McKean County Tax Claim Repository, six on Maplewood Avenue, one on East Main Street and one on Ascension Street. The properties are beyond the scope of renovations.
The sale of 11 properties was approved, pending similar approval from the taxing bodies of McKean County and the Bradford Area School District. Those are at 124 and 126 East Ave., 14 E. Corydon St.; 30, 32 and 142 Summer St.; Thompson Avenue, Jackson Avenue, South Avenue, Oxford Street and Keating Avenue.
A proposal was accepted from E&M Engineers to provide engineering services and drawings required for renovation work on the third floor of Old City Hall to meet building code requirements. The cost is not to exceed $4,500.
The next regularly scheduled meeting is set for 6 p.m. Feb. 13.
