Bradford City Council handled some important matters in a meeting that lasted just over six minutes Tuesday evening.
Council members approved filing a Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program Grant application to the Pennsylvania Office of the Budget in the amount of $4 million for Triangle Works Collaborative LLC.
According to the agenda, the city is working with Triangle Works “to redevelop an existing three-story historic building and add a two-story addition to the existing building located at 146 W. Washington St.,” which is the building next to the end of Interstate Parkway, across from Pizza Napoli.
Triangle Works Collaborative LLC has agreed to provide the match funding required for the RACP grant, the agenda read.
The Office of the Budget invited the city to submit a full application for the project, and the city would enter into a sub-grant agreement with Triangle Works.
Also at the meeting, Chip Comilla, head of the parks department, announced a change to the schedule for the Callahan Park ice rink. Monday through Friday, the rink will be open from noon to 3 p.m. for families with small children at home, or for home school children who need a physical education credit. Anyone 18 and younger has to be accompanied by an adult.
Council members appointed Austin Coleman as a temporary firefighter/ EMT to provide coverage for an injured firefighter.
Ceegan Danielson was appointed to the City of Bradford zoning hearing board.
The next regular meeting of city council is 6 p.m. Jan. 23.
