The most recent cohort of nursing graduates from SUNY Jamestown Community College have attained a 100% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination to become registered nurses.
The NCLEX is a rigorous examination that serves as a critical benchmark for nursing graduates seeking licensure to practice as registered nurses in New York.
“This 100% pass rate is a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment of our students, as well as the expertise and support of our faculty,” said Heather Burrell, associate professor and director of nursing at SUNY JCC. “We are thrilled to see our graduates achieve such a high level of success.”
The college’s nursing program was ranked among the best associate degree offerings in New York state in 2022 per the Nursing Schools Almanac annual rankings. Historically, JCC nursing students have performed above the 2012-2021 Nursing Schools Almanac-cited 89.1% average, which is based on an average of 95 students graduating each year.
“Our nursing program is challenging and demanding of students,” Burrell said. “It is built that way to prepare our graduates to pass the licensure exam and be successful registered nurses.”
