Bradford Area School District officials released a statement via the district’s Remind messaging app Thursday that an adult visiting Floyd C. Fretz Middle School had passed away after experiencing a medical emergency.
When the “adult visitor from an outside agency” experienced the emergency, school leaders called a shelter in place and “staff moved immediately to assist the person in need.”
Bradford City Fire Department first responders were dispatched to Fretz at 8:58 a.m. for a report of cardiac arrest.
“Sadly, the individual passed away despite the best efforts of our team and medical personnel.”
The message continued, “Although our hearts are heavy, I want to commend everyone involved for their quick response and concern during this emergency.”
