COUDERSPORT — In their last game of the season, the Otto-Eldred volleyball team fell in three sets, losing their multi-game win streak to Coudersport.
Coudy swept at home, winning 25-19, 25-22 and 25-16. Sierra Myers had six kills, six blocks and two aces while Savannah Myers had eight kills, 10 digs and five aces. Madyson Dubots-Angood recorded 11 digs, four aces and three kills and Emilee Ruter had 18 digs.
For O-E, Carrie Drummond had 11 kills, 17 digs and one block, Kate Rhinehart had 12 kills and nine digs and Anna Schuessler had 24 assists in the loss.
The Lady Terrors now await the seedings from District 9, which should be released later this week.
Oswayo Valley 3, Cameron County 0EMPORIUM — The Lady Green Wave took care of business on the road, making quick work of the Lady Red Raiders in three sets, 25-17, 25-12 and 25-16.
Praylan Perkins had nine digs, seven kills, one ace and two blocks for OV. Olivia Cook had nine kills, three digs, three aces and two blocks while Eva West had five kills, four digs and two aces.
Port Allegany 3, Austin 2AUSTIN — Fighting back and forth, the Lady Gators were able to outlast the Lady Panthers, snubbing a comeback victory.
Port took the first set 25-19, but fell in the next two, 25-18 and 26-24. However, the Lady Gators were able to snub Austin’s comeback in the fourth and fifth set, winning 25-18 and 17-15.
Austin’s Ella Brewer had 35 digs while Marah Fowler had 35 assists. Isabella Reese and Jade Williams both recorded 13 kills individually, while Reese had five blocks and Williams had four aces.
Northern Potter 3, Galeton 1GALETON — Despite their best efforts, the Lady Panthers could not complete a sweep of the Lady Tigers, winning in four.
NoPo won the first two sets, 29-17 and 25-20, before Austin took their only win of the day, coming out on top 25-17. The Lady Panthers closed out the day with a 25-17 win.
Haylee Chapman had 11 kills, 10 digs and two blocks for NoPo, while Reagan Slawson had seven digs and eight kills. Kayla Hyde had 20 digs, five assists and five kills, Kayden Brown had 17 digs, 16 assists and four kills.
GIRLS SOCCERElk County Catholic 2, Punxsutawney 1ST. MARYS — After going down early, the Lady Crusader responded in the second half, eventually pulling away and sealing a comeback victory.
ECC’s Sami Straub found the back of the net first, getting a pass from Gina Geci and netting a game-tying score. Straub would rise to the occasion once again, scoring a go-ahead goal towards the end of the second half off of a Seanna VanAlstine assist.
ECC’s fire-at-will offense tallied 44 shots on goal to the Lady Chucks’ six. Emily Mourer protected the Lady Crusaders’ net with five stops.
BOYS SOCCERPort Allegany 4, Northern Potter 1ULYSSES — Justin Dunn’s hat trick carried the Gators over the Panthers, handing them their 13th loss of the season.
Port’s Henry Kisler would put the Gators ahead first with a successful penalty kick, followed by Dunn’s two goals to close out the first half. In the second, Dunn found his third and final goal, putting Port on top of a comfortable lead.
NoPo’s lone goal came from Wyatt Bliss, who would punch in a score with ten minutes remaining.
Aidan Clark recorded 14 saves for the Gators while Malachi Lewis tallied 20.
Elk County Catholic 6, Coudersport 2ST. MARYS — The Crusaders celebrated their six seniors with six goals during their demolition of the Falcons.
Ahead of the game, ECC recognized Sagan Beaver, Timmy Brannock, Moe MacDonald, Landen Snyder, Bobby Urmann and Thomas Genise-Gdula.
Benny Cerroni carried the Crusaders with five goals and an assist to Bradyn Pistner during the win. Pistern also tallied an assist.
Coudy’s scores came from Mason Roessner and Reilly Streich. Assists Micah Batson and Mitchel Taylor.
