SMETHPORT — After 80 minutes of regular time and two overtime periods, neither Port Allegany nor Ridgway could gain an advantage as they ended in a stalemate 2-2 tie, spoiling the Lady Gators’ Senior Night celebration.
Port’s goals both came from Madison Fillhart while Jaidyn Hodgdon and Kallie Milliard each found the back of the net for the Lady Elkers.
After the game, the Lady Gators recognized their two seniors, midfielder Julianna Cole and goalkeeper Jenn Baxter.
“I have coached Jenn in rec league for a lot of her career and I was really excited to work with her in her first year starting. She had to wait to play because she was under four-year starter Brielle Budd, but she’s shown leadership and poise as a captain and goalie,” said Port Allegany girls coach Matt Lawton. “Juliana is a second-year player and I have had a great time coaching her because she is so enthusiastic and hardworking. She always has a smile on her face.”
