CAMP HILL — PCN’s celebration of the 75th anniversary of cable television will recognize Pennsylvania’s connection to the founders of cable television.
PCN will dedicate October to special programming, including archival interviews with Cable Pioneers, and a look at the growth and future of the cable industry.
“In one way or another, every PCN program celebrates the history and culture of Pennsylvania,” said Debra Kohr Sheppard, president and CEO. “From our coverage of the PA Farm Show and Gettysburg Battle Walks to our original programming, such as PCN Tours. We commemorate the 75th anniversary of cable television, not only because of cable’s deep roots in Pennsylvania but because of PCN’s shared history with the Cable Pioneers, some of whom helped to start PCN in 1979. We look forward to sharing the interviews we’ve preserved of these Pennsylvania innovators and celebrating this facet of our state’s history with our viewers.”
75th anniversary programs will air every Sunday in October starting at 8 p.m. with an encore the following Thursday starting at 7 p.m. Viewers can watch PCN on cable in PA or streaming worldwide with PCN Select. PCN Select is available on desktop, mobile, Apple TV, Fire TV and Roku.
