EMPORIUM — Two female cyclists taking part in the Sinnemahone Gravel Grinder race were struck by a car at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of South Broad Street and East 3rd Street in Emporium Borough.
Emporium-based state police said two cyclists, one age 45, of Warren, and the second age 52, of Emporium, both received suspected minor injuries when they were struck by a car driven by a 17-year-old male. None of the participants were identified by state police.
Police said the driver of the car was wearing a seatbelt and had no injuries. Both of the cyclists were wearing helmets, and were taken to Penn Highlands Elk for evaluation and treatment.
Assisting on the scene were Cameron County Ambulance Service and Emporium Volunteer Fire Co.
