UNIVERSITY PARK (TNS) — Four Penn State University football players will be driving Teslas around campus as part of a Name-Image-Likeness deal signed with Pa.-based Inch & Co.
Inch & Co. said Abdul Carter, Drew Allar, Kalen King and Olu Fashanu each received a Tesla with the company logo on the side. Inch said the players will own the cars for one year.
In a news release, Cambria Bailey, marketing director of Inch & Co. in York, said, “This isn’t just an advertising opportunity, it’s an investment opportunity.”
Carter is a freshman from Philadelphia and has shown flashes of why he is considered by many observers to be the next great linebacker for the Nittany Lions. Allar, a quarterback, also is a freshman and was considered by many to be the top QB in his recruiting class. Barring injury or unforeseen circumstances, he will be Penn State’s starter in 2023.
King is a sophomore cornerback while Fashanu is a sophomore offensive tackle.
College athletes are permitted, according to NCAA policy, to accept money from businesses in exchange for using them in products or advertisements.
“Inch & Co. is currently building several residential and industrial communities along the northeast region of the states but will be launching into the sport’s complex arena within the upcoming year.
Plans for the complex are still in the works but making these connections and building relationships with those in the sports industry will be another added benefit of this NIL agreement. They will be the second construction company in the United States to jump on the NIL bandwagon, alongside Bobbitt,” said the company in a news release.
Inch & Co. is a construction, real estate and property management company.
