KANE — The Bradford girls golf team emerged victorious at Tuesday’s North Penns Woods Golf League Championship, held at Kane Country Club.
The Lady Owls turned in a team score of 147 to top the field, while Bradford’s Cadence Stiles finished first individually with a career-best score of 42. Payten Leet backed that up with a 50, while Lillian Erickson tacked on a 55.
“It was a great team win,” Bradford coach Ashlee Colwell said. “The girls played well, despite the less-than-ideal weather conditions. This was a great finish to our 9-1 season.”
Stiles was selected as the league’s Most Outstanding Golfer. She was one of six league All-Stars recognized, also including Leet, Rylee Haight (Kane), Olivia Schott (Smethport), Leah Larsen (Coudersport) and Rylee Thompson (Oswayo Valley).
“(Stiles) has been consistent for us all season,” Colwell said. “I’m proud of (the team) and how they played this year. We look forward to the District 9 Championship next week.”
