GALETON — Alex Schott’s first career goal couldn’t have come at a more clutch time for Port Allegany.
The freshman’s overtime tally lifted the Port boys soccer team over Williamson, 3-2, in the first round of the Galeton Tournament. Aidan Emerick added two goals for Port, while Henry Kisler and Justin Dunn each recorded an assist.
Trent Achey and Duncan Kerr each accounted for one of Williamson’s goals, while Loagan Stickler made four saves in goal. Aidan Clark assumed goalkeeping duties for Port, making 10 saves.
Port plays again at 7 p.m. tonight in the tournament’s final.

Oswayo Valley 3, Cowanesque Valley 0
WESTFIELD — Avaree Kellert’s 22 kills, 11 digs and two aces led Oswayo Valley over Cowanesque Valley in straight sets (25-18, 25-13, 25-18).
Praylan Perkins added 13 digs, eight kills and an ace for OV, while Evan West had five aces, three kills and 11 service points. Trinity Lundy stuffed the stat sheet with four aces, 32 assists, five digs and seven service points.

EMPORIUM — Olivia Schott earned medalist honors for the second time in as many matches Thursday, as her round of 51 led Smethport over Cameron County.
Hope Peterson added a 56 for Smethport, while Elyse Umble led CC with a 55.
