Jake Franz turned in a 42 to earn medalist honors and lead the Bradford boys golf team over Elk County Catholic, 232-310.
Four Bradford golfers shot sub-50, including Brayden Wilt, Chase Wineberg and Alex Pilon. The Owls have nine golfers they’ll rotate into an eight-man match lineup, coach Travis Faulkner said.
“It was a good first match for a lot of our guys,” Faulkner said. “It was by no means their best round of the year was a good start. A few minor mistakes, but overall happy with how we played.”
Franz earned his first medalist nod in as many tries, continuing momentum from a busy summer on local youth circuits.
““(Franz) is playing as much as he can,” Faulkner said. “He was off a little bit today, just wasn’t in a good rhythem, but I’m confiendt that he can step up any time and shoot mid-70s (over 18 holes) where I know he can.”
The Owls will travel to Kane Thursday.

Sophie Cornelius added a 52 for Bradford, while Rylee Thompson scored 52 for OV.
