HARRISBURG (TNS) — What a milestone!
A woman in Montgomery County recently welcomed her 100th grandchild.
NBC 10 Philadelphia reports how Lafayette Hill resident Marguerite Koller recently welcomed a brand-new great grandson.
The baby boy — who just made it as the 100th grandchild after coming a week past his due date — was born to one of Koller’s granddaughters, who tells the story of how her family got to be so big.
“She was married to my grandfather right before World War II in 1942,” tells the granddaughter, Christine Balster, to the news station. “They were happily married for 66 years. They started a business in Rockboro.
“[They had] 11 children, 56 grandchildren.”
The same NBC 10 Philadelphia article continues to state that, if you do the math in accounting for other family members such as cousins, the Koller family total bumps up to 167, making for big celebrations when gathering for holidays and special events.
“And I was going to the convent,” says Koller. “I was accepted!”
As fate would have it, Koller’s 100th grandchild has come just before she turns 100 herself.
