BIBLIOPHILES REJOICE. For those of us who can’t seem to take our noses out of a good book, today is our day! To all the book lovers out there — Happy Book Lovers Day!
For some, the love of a good book might be based on the storyline or the genre.
For others, it is the author who wrote the series. How many books are on your shelf or in your online library written by the same author? You may not even have noticed before.
We find ourselves reading anywhere we can steal a moment of time, whether that moment is truly free to not. Do you sneak a page here and there, too?
Some of our favorite books this year have taken us away from the real world’s current issues and led us into other worlds open for exploration and imagination. We are rereading some of our old favorites, some from childhood that take on a whole new meaning in our older minds.
What have you been exploring or rereading?
And, for book lovers around the world, some of us have been keen on keeping certain books on our own shelves and sharing them with those who want to read them before they are lost to the bans and controversy of censorship.
As you consider where your love of books stands, look at your book-stand carefully. Could you part with the tales that taught you to dream, turned on emotions you didn’t know you had, struck fear into your heart until you were brave enough to turn the page?
For the love of books, keep reading. Keep sharing the stories that bridge understanding for all who need to read them.
