For the first time since the 1985 inception of the Pennsylvania Independent Petroleum Partners (PIPP), the group held their annual meeting and picnic at the PennHills Club, off Minard Run Road, in Bradford rather than in Titusville. And since the COVID-19 pandemic, Saturday was the first get together for members and supporters in some time.
During the meeting portion of the picnic, several Pennsylvania legislators shared their thoughts on the effects the upcoming elections’ will have on the oil and gas industry. There are issues in the oil and gas industry from the current administration, they all agreed. And, they noted, there is work to be done. All the speakers offered encouragement during these pressing and troubled times.
The oil and gas industry is looking for solutions to maneuver through the red tape of all the regulations that have been imposed in recent years. “It’s the worst it has ever been, but we will do what we have always done to survive in our industry,” said PIPP President Mark Cline.
Cline and Dave Hill, PIPP secretary/treasurer and executive director, were each awarded the Gary Hovis Award during the meeting.
The Pennsylvania Independent Petroleum Producers is a non-profit organization that represents over 300 independent producers, industry personnel and supporters. Together, they work to maintain the economic feasibility of independent oil production by influencing current and future oil and gas regulations.
