CYCLONE — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) McKean County Maintenance announced Friday the following work schedule for the week of July 18 through July 22, weather permitting.
Motorists should travel with extra caution in these and all work areas. Motorists should be aware that due to the nature of highway maintenance and emergency work, crews could be working on any highway at any time of the day or night.
On the McKean County Maintenance schedule for next week, PennDOT plans to perform various sign repairs and upgrades on State Routes throughout the County; there is a detour in place for bridge repair work on State Route 346, Tram Hollow Road; patching on State Route 46 — Bradford to Rew area, Route 246 — Looker Mountain Trail and Route 446 — Eldred to New York line; pipe replacement on State Route 1009, Bell Run Road; side dozing on Route 46 — Emporium Road and Route 146 — Clermont Road; and ditching on State Route 1001 — Bell Run Road and State Route 1015 — Colombia Hill Road.
The following additional work is scheduled to be completed by contractor, Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc., weather permitting: Resurfacing State Route 321, north bound traffic will alternate with lane closure during construction and south bound traffic will be detoured to Route 6 to Route 219 in Lantz Corners to Wilcox and back to Route 321. This detour will be in place until the completion of the project.
Hawbaker is also scheduled to resurface Route 46. This project will consist of replacing a box culvert, drainage improvements, guide rail installation, pavement marking and other miscellaneous construction — a two-lane temporary roadway will be built as a run around when the box culvert is being replaced.
Lastly, Jefferson Paving Corporation has plans to mill and fill on State Route 146, Clermont Road, and Long Hauling & Excavation, Inc. are scheduled to perform roadside mowing on various State Routes throughout McKean county.
