While the impact of COVID-19 has started to lessen in the immediate area, the coronavirus is still present, albeit at much smaller numbers.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, as of Tuesday, there were seven new cases of COVID-19 in the region.
As of Tuesday, McKean County had three new cases of COVID-19 for a total of 8,645. In one week’s time, there were 35 new cases, as the total from July 5 had been 8,610. In one month, there were 112 new cases, and since the beginning of the year, 2,287 new cases. There have been a total of 150 deaths.
As for vaccines, 59.3% of county residents had at least one vaccine dose, while 48.6% are fully vaccinated.
In Elk County, there were three new cases as of Tuesday for a total of 7,528. In one week’s time, there were 45 new cases, in a month’s time, 120 new cases, and since the beginning of the year, 2,142 new cases. There have been a total of 104 deaths.
As for vaccines, 64.9% of people in Elk County have received at least one vaccine, while 58.7% are fully vaccinated.
There was one new case in Potter County as of Tuesday for a total of 3,415. In one week’s time, there were nine new cases, in one month’s time, 38 new cases, and since the beginning of the year, 825 new cases. There have been a total of 93 deaths.
As for vaccines, 47.3% of county residents have at least one vaccine dose while 39.7% are fully vaccinated.
There were no new cases of COVID-19 in Cameron County as of Tuesday, the last new case was on July 9, for a total of 875 cases. In one week’s time, there were two new cases, in one month’s time, 16 new cases, and since the beginning of the year, 225 new cases. There have been a total of 21 deaths.
As for vaccines, 63.4% of people in Cameron County had at least one vaccine dose, while 57.9% were fully vaccinated.
The health department also released data per legislative area.
By senatorial district, the 25th district of Sen. Cris Dush, R-Brookville, was tied for last place for the percentage of people vaccinated. In the 25 and in the 30 of Sen. Judy Ward, R-Altoona, 41.4% of all individuals are fully vaccinated.
The most vaccinations appear to be in the 17th district of Sen. Amanda Cappelletti, D-Norristown, at 76.8%.
By Pennsylvania House District, the 67th district of Rep. Marty Causer, R-Turtlepoint, is 6th lowest at 42.2%. The 75th of Re. Mike Armanini, R-DuBois, is at 53.7%, which is 48th from the lowest, or right about at the middle of the pack, at 53.7%.
The highest is the 167th of Rep. Kristine Howard, D-Malvern, at 87.3%.
By U.S. House District, the 15th of Congressman Glenn Thompson, R-Pa., is third from bottom at 50.1%.
