ROULETTE — A posthumous Memorial Service was held on Father’s Day, June 19, 2022 for PFC Carleton L. Summers at Hill Cemetery in Roulette.
The family reported spending several hours, days, months and eventually years performing research on PFC Summers in order to honorably hold his service, where his official honors could be finally recognized.
PFC Summers was a WWII veteran who, during his career in the military, received a Silver Star, Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. PFC Summers died in 1988.
As part of the Memorial Service, which took place this past Sunday, full military honors were accorded for the service.
