PORT ALLEGANY — The Rotary Club welcomed River Cramer as one of two Port Allegany High School (PAHS) graduates who received 2022 Rotary Scholarships at a recently held meeting in Port Allegany.
He was presented with the Rotary Social Studies and Mathematics Awards. Cramer also received the Spanish Award, Jean Marie Swanson Scholarship of $12,743, The Patricia Lloyd Memorial Award, The Lt. William E. Daisley, Jr. Mathematics Award, The Robert J. Edgreen Memorial Award, the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, The Fred Waring/Director’s Award for Chorus, The Bob Davies/Lou Foy Student Athlete Award, the Scholastic Excellence Award from the USMC, the USAF Math and Science Award and the USAF Student Athlete Award.
Cramer was also recognized as a member of the National Honor Society, receiving a Certificate of Superior Achievement for attaining High Honor Roll status during each marking period of the school year and also a Certificate of Distinguished Excellence for attaining Honor Roll status every marking period for six years of school. He was Valedictorian of his class and one of five graduates to speak at Commencement exercises held June 3 at PAHS.
The second PAHS graduate, Ryan Bowser, was the recipient of the Science Award.
The Rotary Club will hold their regular weekly meeting at noon on Thursday, June 16 at the Moose Lodge. The annual Rotary Picnic will be held at the home of Dave and Anna Fair on Thursday, June 23, therefore there will be no noon meeting at the Moose on that date.
