BORED TEENS: Summer is here, unofficially, and the eye rolls have already begun. The littles are easy to make plans for and keep occupied during the warmer days but what can the older kids get into that won’t get them in trouble. Psst, these don’t have to be just for the teenagers who are screaming “I’m bored” in the background; anyone can enjoy the fun on this list!
Organize a tug-of-war.
Have a bonfire and roast marshmallows or make s’ mores.
Build an obstacle course.
Go to a movie alone (it’s not so bad!).
Send a message in a bottle.
Take some interesting photographs of your neighborhood.
Fly a kite.
Make your own slip-n-slide with plastic garbage bags.
Have a big game of capture-the-flag.
Have a water balloon fight.
Go on a scavenger hunt.
Hold a mini Olympics with your friends.
Write letters (not emails, but actual pen-and-ink notes!).
Volunteer at a charity, soup kitchen, shelter, or nursing home.
Grab a map and go for a long walk to a place that you’ve never been to.
Watch the sunset (or rise!).
Play card games: poker, spit, or solitaire. If you don’t know-how? It’s time to learn! (With real cards, not digital or on the computer.)
Buy several flavors of ice-cream and have an ice-cream feast!
Paint a mural on one of your bedroom walls.
Build a fortress out of cardboard boxes (you’re not too old for that).
There are 100 things to do on the full list. How many will you or your teen venture out to do or make an attempt to try this summer? studentden.com/100-things-for-teens-to-do-this-summer/
