RIDGWAY — The Elk County Amateur Radio Association (ECARA) Club has activities planned for later this month. Anyone interested in Ham Radio is invited to attend.
The ECARA Club will hold a test session at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 18 at the Hallton Church on Evergreen Drive. The event is free; but, all attendees must have two forms of identification, one must be a photo ID. All license classes will be given.
On June 25 — 26, the public is invited to attend Field Days, an event that shows how Ham Radio operators can operate under emergency conditions when cell phones will not work. The event will begin at 2 p.m. at the Lewis Camp on Bingham Road. Antennas and radios are available.
Setup will begin Friday evening and any club member who can assist is asked to contact the Lewis family.
The annual ECARA Club picnic will begin after Field Days is cleaned up. At approximately 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, members, friends and family are welcome to attend. Bring a dish to share. Attendees should also bring their own beverages.
The next club meeting will be on July 17.
