GET HAPPY: Gail Archer and some friends have ditched the days of their Victorian Teas and opted for more fun since being cooped up by COVID over the last two years.
The days of the Rat Pack, complete with Frank Sinatra, are coming to town for a brief stop in. Okay, so the entertainer of the night is not really “The Leader” but he sure sounds like he is.
“We are making up for lost time this year, we are coming to the Option House as if we were part of the Great Gatsby days, complete with antique cars and decked out in flapper era clothes,” said Archer. The group will show up on Saturday, May 28, around 4:45 p.m. in cars owned by Carol Ellis and Jim Johnson; one is an old Pontiac and the other is an old Packard — her words.
She calls herself a “youthful senior citizen” and after chatting with her for a few minutes it is clear that she and her friends like to have fun, lots of fun.
The gang will show up in style, take their place in the restaurant, listen to the performer for a while, before taking to the town to really get the night started. If others want to join in after, Archer said that is something they get every time they put one of these activities together.
“Usually, it is the younger crowd that comes along with us. They are always so kind and accepting,” she said.
The group is really excited to make a scene this weekend.
Get your flappers and pinstripe suits, feathers and fedoras, shine up the wingtips and high-heels, and join in the fun this weekend.
