CLARION — As kids and families look for ways to reconnect with their communities and tap into meaningful in-person activities, Remake Learning Days Across America returns this spring to Northwestern PA and 16 other regions across the country, with events designed to inspire active learning.
In partnership with Midwestern IU IV, Northwest Tri-County IU#5, Riverview Intermediate Unit #6, Seneca Highlands IU#9, ARIN IU#28 and various community event hosts, Northwestern PA will host 100+ events during this learning festival between May 12– May 23. These events are designed for parents and caregivers to learn alongside their kids and offer relevant and engaging educational experiences for youth of all ages (pre-K through high school). The majority of events are free.
On May 16, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Workforce Solutions of North Central PA is holding a virtual program called Meet a Rural Professional Series for grades 6 and up. Each day a new professional will be featured to talk about their career and how they came to be with their company. Anthony Varischetti, vice president of manufacturing at Phoenix Sintered Metals in Ridgway, will be featured.
Also on May 16, from 2 to 7 p.m., Seneca Highlands Intermediate Unit 9 will hold a STEM Showcase open house. The event is aimed at educators to see what the IU9 offers schools.
From 4 to 7 p.m. May 23, Mount Jewett Memorial Library will present STEM for everyone. The free, in person event will have participants making a Bristlebot to take home.
