DUKE CENTER — “It’s always tough when you lose four seniors,” Otto-Eldred softball coach Roger Veilleux said.
The Lady Terrors played their first home game in over a year, and what better night to have it than Senior Night. Otto-Eldred seized the moment and took care of Smethport, 17-2, in four innings.
Senior Abby Wolfe earned the victory on the mound, striking out six batters and walking none in an admirable day of work.
“It was a bit emotional at the beginning, but we came to play. All the seniors played well,” Veilleux said.
Veilleux also made a point to praise the Lady Terror defense, which allowed just two runs.
Katie Sheeler went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, driving in three O-E scores. Fellow junior Bri Heller earned two hits in four appearances.
The senior duo of Wolfe and Suzie Rounsville each hit a double, with Rounsville scoring a baserunner on her extra base hit. Smethport’s Janelle Dinch struck a two-run homer to drive in the Lady Hubbers’ lone scores during her 1-for-2 day.
With recent weather misfortunes, Otto-Eldred has not had a consistent playing or practice schedule with little outdoor action. Veilleux noted that, unfortunately for his group, much work has been done in the gym, not outdoors, leading up to the postseason.
He said that these next two weeks of games should prepare the Lady Terrors best for the postseason.
“We need to get our legs under us and see some more live balls,” Veilleux added.
Johnsonburg 1, Kane 0
JOHNSONBURG — A pitcher’s duel between Johnsonburg’s Julia Jones and Kane’s Madisohn Stahli had the game deadlocked at zeroes until the seventh inning, where two errors aided Johnsonburg in the Ramettes’ 1-0 victory.
Jburg’s Julie Peterson reached home for the winning run on an error after Priscilla Ehrensberger singled.
Jones pitched exceptionally, striking out 14 batters in her complete game victory. Jones did walk two and allow three hits; two came from Jenna Crowley, who has elevated her game down the stretch of the season.
Stahli gave up four hits and walked none for Kane in the losing effort.
Wellsboro 21, Coudersport 8, 6 innings
COUDERSPORT — After taking a 6-3 lead after two innings, Coudersport let up 18 unanswered runs from Wellsboro that were too much for the Lady Falcons to handle.
After Coudy’s Madyson Dubots-Angood and Sierra Myers scored on consecutive wild pitches, Savannah Myers knocked a two-out double into left field, scoring Emma Saulter.
That would be the first and final lead for the lady Falcons. Saulter struck out three batters and let up eight runs in 3.2 innings, but just two were earned.
Savannah Myers went 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI, and Sierra Myers hit 2-for-4, driving in a run, as well.

KANE — After a first inning that saw Johnsoburg leading Kane, 3-2, the Rams decided a one-run lead would not be safe enough, scoring five unanswered runs and defeating the Wolves handily.
Kaden Dennis and Aiden Zimmerman led Jburg with three hits and one double and RBi apiece. Ethan Wells hit a two-run homer in the first for the Rams.
The win was granted to Jburg pitcher Luke Zimmerman, who threw a complete game and struck out six batters. Shane Ackley went 2-for-4 with an RBI in his day at the dish for Kane.
